THE ESSENCE OF TASTE
Guided winery tour in Valpolicella
What to expect from a winery visit in Valpolicella
A winery visit in Valpolicella is the most direct way to discover how the wines of this unique region are made. It is not just about tasting wine: you will see the ageing barrels, meet the people behind the winemaking process, and walk through the same spaces where the wines rest and develop their character.
Venturini Winery is located in San Pietro in Cariano, in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica area, just a few kilometres from Verona. The winery has been family-run since 1963 and is now managed by the third and fourth generations. The vineyards cover 15 hectares of hillside land at an altitude of 250 metres, with south-west exposure and limestone-rich soils where native varieties such as Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Molinara are cultivated.
The guided winery tour takes place at the Venturini wine shop in Via Semonte 20 and always includes a tasting of the winery’s wines, accompanied by typical local cured meats and cheeses. The atmosphere is informal and welcoming: no large groups or standardised itineraries. The experience is hosted by the people who make the wines and know them inside out.
It is an experience suitable for couples, groups of friends and families alike. No previous wine knowledge is required: the tastings are designed both for those discovering Valpolicella for the first time and for enthusiasts who already know Amarone and Ripasso and wish to explore them in greater depth.
Guided Valpolicella winery tours: the Venturini experiences
Venturini offers three different winery experiences, each with its own focus.
Discover Valpolicella is the most accessible experience and includes a tasting of five classic wines from the Venturini range – including Valpolicella, Ripasso and Amarone – served with a selection of local cured meats and cheeses. The experience lasts approximately two hours, costs €25 per person, and does not require a minimum number of participants. Guests can also add a catered main course for an additional €10 per person.
Historic Amarone is designed for those who wish to explore Valpolicella’s most iconic wine in greater depth. Guests taste six different Amarone vintages, accompanied by a selection of local cured meats and cheeses, for €85 per person (minimum four participants). A catering option is also available.
The Amarone Experience is our most complete tour: a five-hour journey beginning with hotel pick-up within the Province of Verona in a classic Fiat 500. The itinerary continues with a scenic drive through Valpolicella, including panoramic stops overlooking Lake Garda and Verona, with an aperitif served along the way. The experience concludes at the winery with the Historic Amarone tasting and a light lunch.
