THE ESSENCE OF TASTE
Winery tours in Valpolicella
Why take a winery tour in Valpolicella?
A winery tour in Valpolicella offers the opportunity to discover first-hand how wine is produced in one of the Veneto’s most renowned wine regions. This isn’t a museum visit: you’ll step inside the working winery where the wines ferment, see the oak barrels where Amarone matures, and taste the wines just a few metres from where they were bottled.
Venturini Winery is located in San Pietro in Cariano, in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica region, around 20 minutes from Verona. The Venturini family has been cultivating these vineyards since 1963. The estate covers 15 hectares of hillside vineyards at an altitude of around 250 metres, characterised by limestone-rich soils and traditional marogne – the dry-stone walls that support the terraced slopes. All of the grapes are native varieties: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Molinara.
Every tour includes a guided tasting of the winery’s wines, accompanied by a selection of locally produced cured meats and cheeses. The tastings are hosted by the people who make the wines: not external guides, but members of the Venturini family, now represented by the third and fourth generations.
Whether you’re visiting Verona and want to spend a morning or afternoon exploring Valpolicella, planning a day out with friends, or looking for a unique experience to enjoy as a couple, our winery tours offer an authentic introduction to the region. No previous wine knowledge is required: the experience is designed for everyone, from those discovering Valpolicella Classico for the first time to enthusiasts keen to explore vintage Amarone.
Amarone winery tours: discover the Venturini experiences
Venturini winery offers three tasting experiences, each designed to suit a different level of interest and exploration.
Discover Valpolicella. Our introductory experience includes a tasting of five classic wines – Valpolicella, Ripasso, Amarone and selected IGT wines – served with a selection of local cured meats and cheeses. The experience lasts approximately two hours, costs €25 per person, and has no minimum number of participants. An optional hot main course can be added for an additional €10 per person.
Historic Amarone. This experience is dedicated to Valpolicella’s most iconic wine. Guests taste six different Amarone vintages, each revealing a distinct stage in the wine’s evolution and character over time. The experience costs €85 per person, requires a minimum of four participants, and includes a selection of local cured meats and cheeses, with the option of adding a catered main course.
Amarone Experience. Our most comprehensive winery tour lasts around five hours and begins with hotel pick-up anywhere within the Province of Verona in a classic Fiat 500, or alternatively from our wine shop. The itinerary includes two scenic stops – one overlooking Lake Garda and the other offering panoramic views of Verona – with an aperitif served during the journey. The experience concludes back at the winery with the Historic Amarone tasting and a catered light lunch. It is the perfect way to discover Valpolicella through its landscapes, its traditions and, above all, its wines.
